How Verbatim quotes podcasts

Verbatim publishes short, attributed extracts from podcasts, each linked to the exact moment in the publisher’s own episode. It never publishes transcripts, never hosts audio, and removes any show on request within 24 hours.

What is in a row?

One moment where a speaker said something specific: a quote of at most 60 words, who said it as described in the episode, the show, the date, the time in the episode, and the number they said if they said one. The quote is their words with filler words removed by the transcription, never rewritten.

How are moments chosen?

Every episode from 900+ shows is transcribed and read daily. A moment is kept when a speaker describes something they did, a result, a price, a tool or a claim of their own. Sponsor reads and advertisements are removed. Rows are ranked higher when the speaker is named, speaks first-hand, and gives a number.

Where does the audio come from?

The Listen button plays the publisher’s own audio file from their feed, starting at the moment. Verbatim does not copy or store audio, so downloads and advertising inside the episode still count for the publisher.

Can a podcast be removed?

Yes. Any podcast owner can ask for their show to be removed. Requests are actioned within 24 hours and the show is excluded from future runs.

What if a quote is wrong?

Transcription can mishear a word or a name. Every row links to the moment so you can check it. Write to support@theartofservice.com with the link and we correct or remove the row.
