What founders are most worried about this month, and what operators said about it

The Verbatim Worry Index, from The Art of Service, is free original research. It asks founders and Verbatim subscribers three questions about what worries them, then answers the most common worries with what operators said on 900+ business podcasts, every finding linked to the second it was said. The ranking publishes once 20 answers are in. Gerard Blokdyk, founder of The Art of Service, publishes it beside Verbatim Free and Verbatim Pro.

How is the Worry Index made?

  1. Founders and Verbatim subscribers answer three questions on this page: what worries them most, what they are excited about, and what they are stuck on.
  2. Answers are counted by worry. Each answer is tagged with the person's plan (Free, Pro or Team), and no name or email is ever published.
  3. Once 20 answers are in, the top worries are ranked here, and each is answered with three moments from the last 30 days of the library.
  4. The counts update as answers arrive, and the moments refresh with the library every day.

Frequently asked questions

What are founders most worried about right now?

The Verbatim Worry Index answers that from founders' own answers, not from guesses. The ranking appears on this page once 20 answers are in, with the count for each worry. Until then the page shows how many answers have arrived and what operators said this month on common founder worries.

How is the Worry Index made?

Founders answer three questions on this page. The Verbatim Worry Index counts the answers by worry, then searches 900+ business podcasts for what operators said about each top worry in the last 30 days, and links every moment to the second it was said. No names or emails are published.

Is it free?

Yes. The Verbatim Worry Index is free to read and free to answer. It sits beside Verbatim Free, the Monday brief on three topics, and Verbatim Pro at USD 29 a month for unlimited topics, a 25-name watchlist with next-morning alerts and 30 days of search.

How often is it updated?

The counts update as answers arrive, and the operator moments refresh with the library, which updates every day. The Verbatim Worry Index ranking first publishes when 20 answers are in, and from then on it reflects every answer received.

Can I hear the moments behind each finding?

Yes. Every moment in the Verbatim Worry Index links to the exact second it was said on the podcast and plays from that second, the same as every quote on the Verbatim site. Quotes are short; the full episode belongs to its publisher.
